This week is special as some prominent names are preparing to pay special dividends, with the last date to trade being within the week.

A special dividend is a one-time payment to shareholders, typically from non-recurring events, differing from regular dividends.

  • RMB Holdings Limited is returning R254 million from Atterbury base loan and Integer 3 settlements. Additionally, it is returning R73 million of retained cash, totalling a dividend of R327 million.
  • Mondi PLC sold Russian assets for €775 million. As a result, it will pay a special dividend and proceed with a share consolidation.

On January 12, one of the world's biggest nuclear energy players, also extracting uranium, announced a cut in 2024 production.
