This week heralds a significant milestone for Meta Platforms, a tech industry juggernaut renowned for its dominance in social media. As the owner of WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, it is preparing to issue its first-ever dividend. The last day to buy shares that qualify for the payout is within the week. The social media giant saw its revenue soar as it pivots to AI.

Concurrently, another titan in the tech sphere, Nvidia Corp, a leading manufacturer of high-end graphics processing units (GPUs) essential for powering artificial intelligence (AI) advancements, is poised to unveil its quarterly earnings report. Market analysts, citing Nasdaq data, anticipate a notable uptick in earnings, projecting a robust $4.18 per share (EPS) figure. An increase in earnings could potentially pave the way for the company to consider increasing its dividend.

Walmart Inc, Newmont, and Realty Income are other prominent names also expected to announce their quarterly earnings. The market expects earnings of $1.65, $0.50, and $1.02 per share, respectively.

Companies that increased their first quarterly dividend for 2024 in this list are:

• Sherwin-Williams Company: an American manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of paints, coatings, and related products, increased its quarterly dividend by 18%.
• HF Sinclair Corporation: an American energy company headquartered in Houston, Texas, increased by 11%.
• Kinsale Capital Group Inc: an American insurance company specializing in property and casualty insurance (+7%).
• Tractor Supply Company: an American retail chain of farm and ranch equipment and supplies stores (+6%).

Northrop Grumman Corp, RTX Corporation, and Applied Materials Inc are some of the companies known for their consistent dividend growth, having increased their dividends after every four quarters. The upcoming payout mirrors the previous three payouts.
