EasyResearch Weekly Dividends Update

As the earnings season continues, according to Nasdaq, some of the big names reporting this week include:

  • Coca-Cola Company, with the market expecting earnings to be $0.48 per share.
  • Moody’s Corp is expected to report earnings of $2.34 per share.
  • Occidental Petroleum Corp (OXY), EPS of $0.74.
  • Coinbase is expected to report a loss of $0.06 per share.
  • Barrick Gold Corp's expected earnings are $0.21 per share 
  • Albemarle Corporation is expected to report earnings of $1.09 per share.

As you may know, a positive surprise may result in a surge in stock price, while a negative surprise could potentially drop the price.
For this week, let's take a look at companies preparing to pay dividends, with the last day to buy shares that qualify for dividends falling within the week:

Ford Motor Company, an American automobile manufacturer, along with ConocoPhillips, a leading energy company in the US, and Equinor ASA, a Norwegian energy firm, are all set to distribute both ordinary and special dividends. Novus Holdings Limited (a Southern Africa printing company) will be paying a special dividend only.

Oil giants Shell PLC and BP PLC are spreading cheer across markets! Shell pays dividends in the US, UK, and Europe, and BP will be paying dividends to US and UK shareholders.

Looking for growth in dividends?

  • Yum Brands (American fast-food corporation behind KFC and Pizza Hut) increased its quarterly dividend by 11%.
  • Chevron Corp (American oil and gas company) boosted its quarterly dividend by 8%.
  • Amgen Inc. (a multinational biopharmaceutical company) increased its quarterly dividend by 5%.

When we examine other major events, Fortress, a JSE-listed REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust), plans to buy back all existing FFB shares by offering 0.060207 NRP (NEPI Rockcastle N.V shares) for each FFB share. Additionally, all FFA shares will convert into FFB shares after the plan is executed, along with some changes to Fortress's rules.

In the unlisted real estate environment, EasyProperties' auctions for several properties are underway. Shares bought during this auction period will qualify for dividends in the next quarter from properties with rental income.

On January 12, one of the world's biggest nuclear energy players, also extracting uranium, announced a cut in 2024 production.
