Berkshire Hathaway is Not Just a Textile Company

Now we all know of Warren Buffett. Even if you are not an investor yourself, you would have heard of the greatest investor of our time I’m pretty sure.

If on the very odd occasion you haven’t heard of him, here’s some info on him.

While Warren certainly is a legend, we’re keen to highlight the business, not just the man.

Berkshire Hathaway is his brainchild; where he is the chairman, CEO, president, and Chief of Everything.
Funny enough, Berkshire Hathaway was not originally created by Warren.

Berkshire had existed nearly a century before he was born as a textiles manufacturing company, before ceasing textile operations between 1985 and 2016.

Berkshire has investments in American Express, IBM, Wells Fargo, Coca-Cola, and Kraft Heinz; with a substancial stake made in Apple recently in 2016.

Another cool move that Berkshire have made was making Microsoft founder and chairman a board director. This means he gets to be among the deciders of who leads Berkshire Hathaway when Warren steps away from the throne.

We’ll be taking a look at Gates and Microsoft soon, in case you might find their trajectory interesting as well.

Berkshire stocks are interesting not simply because revenue is hinged on GEICO and other subsidiaries' intrinisic business performances. These stocks can be viewed as an a type of tracking index themselves, only without a clear definition of the type of stocks they track. A Buffett-index, of sorts.

Our main man at BizNews, Alec Hogg, is a big fan of Berkshire Hathaway and attends the AGMs once a year. He has even written a book on How To Invest Like Warren Alec wholeheartedly believes Berkshire Hathaway to be the "most valuable company on Earth."
