Coal and energy have been the talk of the town, with many investors keeping an eye on companies reporting higher earnings. This could result in good dividends during these times. This week, a total of 42 companies have declared dividends, with their last trading dates coming up soon. The list includes 26 American, 15 Australian, and one South African listed company from various industries.
Energy companies in this week's update include Arch Resources (also known as Arch Coal) which will be paying shareholders $58.0 million or $3.11. Whitehaven Coal (an Australian coal miner) will return capital of up to $641.4 million to shareholders. This will be through a share buyback and AU$0.32 cash dividend, AGL Energy and more!
Alphamin Resources Corp, from South Africa, has also declared a dividend of almost $28.7 million or R0.38 per share, despite not being a coal producer. On the other hand, Glencore, a coal producer, recently declared a dividend of $7.1 billion ($0.56 per share), which includes a cash payout of $0.44 per share and a $0.12 buyback. This will be paid to shareholders in the first (June) and second half (September) of the company's 2023 financial year.
